Buddy DML was born on Monday, April 14, 2008, in Anloga in the Volta Region of Ghana. He developed an interest in music at an early age, listening to songs between the ages of four and six. He began singing at age thirteen. His native language is Ewe.

Buddy DML began recording music in 2021 under the name Emmanuel Deliver DML. After approximately one and a half years, he adopted the name Emmanuel Deliver DML (Buddy DML), which was later professionally shortened to Buddy DML. Between 2023 and 2024, he became more active in releasing music on digital platforms through AEDTP WORLD, establishing himself as an emerging artist within the Ghanaian Afrobeat and alternative hip-hop scene. His music often reflects themes of struggle, faith, perseverance, and personal growth, with lyrical content focused on prayer, resilience, and trust in God.

His breakthrough song is "Yansh Na Yansh", an Afrobeat track first released on May 18, 2024, and re-released on August 1, 2025. The song originated from a short-edited sample discovered on TikTok, which he later remade into a full track. It went viral between 2024 and 2025, becoming his most streamed release.

Voice story

Buddy DML woke up one day after having a dream and noticed a strange change in his musical voice; his voice had become much deeper. Whenever he tried to sing high notes, his voice would break. But he didn't give up. He continued playing emotional songs and singing on them, making new melodies on the same rhythm.

He was on his way to nature at night to shout and sing, since no one was there. He saw his grandma and helped her. She told him to go home. But Buddy DML didn't stop; he kept on his journey because he felt no one understands him except God. He sang in high pitches and notes, and it worked, making his voice quality improve.

Later his father came and laughed at him. That laugh made Buddy DML stare at his father with silence for about 10 seconds, then the father left.
